LπŸ’—VE IS ALL AROUND...

Woody Wood Pigeon is a proud handsome bird with his pinkish breast and green, white and purple patch on his neck...

He waddles over to ask for some advice from his old friend Dee Dee the Collared Dove...

Dee Dee is the local Agony Aunt for all things love related...

Woody Wood Pigeon explains that his new found love Wendeline has been a little distant lately and would appreciate some tips from Dee Dee on how to woo his dear Wendeline...

Wednesday was a day of rain in Prunella's Patch.
The hibiscus and hydrangea enjoyed some much needed watering...

As Prunella watched from the comfort of her kitchen window, she could see that Dee Dee's advice was obviously invaluable. Even the constant raindrops hadn't dampened the affection the two pigeons had for one another...

 πŸ’— Such precious momentsπŸ’—
Make time for the ones you love...

Until the next time, keep smiling,
 stay safe, happy and healthy.
Hugs to all.

  2. Dear Prunella, your photos are adorable πŸ’• πŸ’• That Wood Pigeon pair is a match made in heaven - or maybe Dee Dee had her wings on play? So cute! I have Wood Pigeons too in my garden but not the Collared Dove type as Dee Dee. Good that Prunella's fabulous purple hibiscus and hydrangea could rejoice of gentle rain. So pretty. Wishing Prunella & the two lovers a fantastic day.

  8. So much love and beauty, even in the rain. Is that a nandina bush, making a perfect backdrop for the happy couple?

    1. Dear Helen, the backdrop is a very large ornamental plum tree, possibly a Prunus cerasifera Nigra Tree. It's very old and is growing in our neighbours garden. Have a truly wonderful weekend :)

  13. Stunning photos, Prunella! :)
Pigeons are not my favourite birds but your magical camera makes them look adorable.
Helen's question made me curious: is the plant a nandina, or perhaps a photinia or something else? :)
Wishing you a lovely weekend! xx

    1. Hello Sara, I agree pigeons can be a nuisance and Griffin's favourite pastime is to chase them!! What you see in the background is actually our neighbours very old and large ornamental flowering plum, possibly Prunus cerasifera Nigra Tree.
Have a truly wonderful weekend :)

  16. Prunella you are so observant and I do love your pictures of the happy couple billing cooing. Of course I am not so tolerant when the big lumps crash over my conservatory roof and sit on my sagging gutters, but hey-ho. Yes, the Wood pigeon is a welcome addition to our garden bird list.
