Pastures New...

Out for an early morning stroll, Prunella could hear a dog barking excitedly in the distance.
Looking towards the hillside Prunella spotted Farmer Brown out with Brutus his trusty sheepdog.
Time to move his flock of sheep on to pastures new...

Further down a muddy farm track Prunella spied some clues to another flock in an adjoining field...

A flock of gulls...

Prunella stopped for a rest and was rewarded by the sight of fieldfares and a robin feasting in the paddock where a tree that reminded her of Harry Potters  whomping willow grew...

Turning left past Farmer Brown's old barn heading towards home, past the pond where Peter Pickles made a splash...

Prunella spied Ed the Red Kite keeping an ever watchful eye over her...

Nice to know she had friends in high places!

  1. A great walk, Prunella, and good detective works too. I have not seen a working sheepdog in many years, but to see one function in cooperation with its human partner is wonderful to behold. I suspect that the bond between dogs and humans is as strong as, or stronger than, any other similar inter species relationship, rooted in trust and mutual affection at its best.
